Every track is open to every team. Choose the one your idea fits best. You can change it on the day.
Take the manual work out of running our estate: monitoring, patching, provisioning, capacity, incident noise.
For example: auto-triage for after-hours alerts, a plain-English query layer over infrastructure inventory, change-risk scoring before a release.
Build the small tool your team keeps wishing existed, or make an existing one far faster to use.
For example: a bot that drafts access requests, onboarding checklists that assemble themselves, a search box across scattered runbooks.
Make getting help faster and less painful for everyone at Hotwire, before a ticket is ever raised.
For example: self-service answers in Teams, smarter ticket routing, a summarizer that hands support a clean history instead of a thread.
Brand new to this? This track is for you. Ship something small and learn the tools. The bar is curiosity, not code.

Yes, that is the whole point. No coding experience is required. The teams that win hackathons like this are usually the ones who understand the problem best, not the ones who type fastest. Pick the Learn AI track if you want the gentlest start.
Sign up on your own and choose "I'm on my own" in the registration form. We'll place you with a group and introduce you before December 8, so you won't be hunting for a team on the morning. Teams of 4–5 work best, and we build them to mix experience levels.
Yes. Register the people you have and we'll top you up with individual sign-ups if you'd like more hands, or leave you as you are if you'd rather stay small.
No. There is a dedicated idea-sharpening slot at the start of the day with mentors on hand. Turning up with a vague itch is completely fine.
Whatever gets you to a working demo: the approved AI tooling, your normal stack, spreadsheets, or a chat interface with good prompts. We'll confirm exactly which tools and accounts are available before the day.
Don't use it. Build with synthetic or clearly redacted sample data only. If your idea seems to need production data, talk to us early and we'll find you a safe substitute.
No, and mixed teams tend to do better. Someone who lives with the problem plus someone who likes tinkering is a strong combination.
The point isn't the prize. Ideas with real traction get picked up afterwards. That's what "building AI into the way our team works" means in practice.
